Hopefully not... that sweat will freeze instantly and hasten the frostbite. This photo is temporarily curing my homesickness for Minnesota.

I was born and spent a lot of years in the Midwest.  Winters are great when you're young, but absolutely suck as an adult.  I'll take the mild and rainy winters every day of the week over that crap.  If I want snow I'll drive up to the mountains.  Having my hands ache as I scrape off snow and ice, worrying about idiots on the road compounding their recklessness with black ice... No thanks.

Yep. Any time I wax poetic about the snow we get a couple inches and I remember why it sucks. I’d rather have the Florida winters I had for the 8 years in between MN and the PNW, but I can’t win them all.

Our summers here rock.  And sweating my ass off is something I was happy to leave in Texas.

They do indeed. My wife and her family always go out of town for long periods of time in the summer. I have no interest in leaving during the summer. February? Get me the hell outta here. Summer? Nope. Staying put.

Yeah, we usually jump over to Hawaii in February to get some respite from the winter.  Since having kids and number three due in a few weeks, it's not worth the expense as it's less of a vacation.

We’ve been kicking around the idea of Hawaii this year, but with a 2 month old, I’m just not excited about going. :/

Looks like the person who will shovel out the car or but not shovel off the roof. Hate them people here.

It’s rough, mostly because you can almost rest assured that someone is sick on the flight. So the thought, chances of getting sick, especially with a newborn who isn’t fully vaccinated is just too risky for me. Plus if you don’t get sick o n the way there, getting sick on the way back has a nice way of kicking you in the nuts when it’s time to get back to work.

I’d rather be sick at work than sick in Hawaii! But since PDX is currently ground zero for measles, I'll stay home.
